Sue Ettinger, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology): The No. 1 reason ends up being cost, especially if they don’t have pet insurance. [Additionally, there is] the fear of chemotherapy side effects, even though, as we’ll go through with the owner, that chemotherapy is very well tolerated, a lot of people have preconceived notions that their pet isn’t going to tolerate it.
