This inverted, or escape, pattern of suppression is the most common LDDS test result seen in the laboratory. The increase in cortisol concentrations between four and eight hours after dexamethasone administration reflects the accelerated dexamethasone metabolism that often occurs in dogs with hyperadrenocorticism.
