CVC posts solid opening attendance

Kansas City - 09/16/2007- More than 6,318 attendees filed into CVC Central yesterday. According to Peggy Shandy Lane, CVC's conference director, more walk-in registrations will likely boost attendance figures over the next two days.

Kansas City - 09/16/2007 - More than 6,318 attendees filed into CVC Central yesterday.

According to Peggy Shandy Lane, CVC's conference director, more walk-in registrations will likely boost attendance figures over the next two days. "It is a very solid start to the conference," she says, which boasts an array of wet-lab offerings as well as 570 continuing education hours.

Some of the preliminary attendance numbers include:

  • Veterinarians: 1,953
  • Technicians: 744
  • Students: 56
  • Practice managers: 182

In addition to the main program, a number of special symposiums, satellite group meetings, pre-conference events were offered including Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Conference with nine experts including Wayne Usiak, Dan Chapel and Dr. Ross Clark.

Veterinary Economics Editor Marnette Falley led the all-day Veterinary Economics Managers' Retreat. The Veterinary Business Management Association will sponsor a Speed Networking and Cocktail Hour today.

Sponsored by CVC and Hill's Pet Nutrition, entertainment this evening is scheduled with country superstar Craig Morgan. The concert is free to CVC attendees.
