November marks National Pet Diabetes Month.
November is National Pet Diabetes Month, and veterinary practices are being invited to use free educational tools provided by the Diabetes Pet Care Alliance to raise awareness about the disease and educate clients.

Quizzes, frequently asked questions, personal stories, brochures, useful terms and other materials can be found online. Veterinary practices can order an educational kit that includes a brochure and a waiting room poster.
It's estimated that one in 230 cats and one in 300 dogs suffers from diabetes, according to the website. The condition is underdiagnosed in pets, and cats are more likely to suffer from Type 2 diabetes.
