Drug to treat Cushing's syndrome approved by the FDA
Overland Park, Kan. -- A new medication containing the drug trilostane, which can help treat Cushing's syndrome in dogs, has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

-- A new medication containing the drug trilostane, which can help treat Cushing's syndrome in dogs, has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
VETORYL(r) capsules can be administered to treat pituitary-dependent hyperadrenocorticism, which is at the base of most canine Cushing's cases, according to Dechra Veterinary Products. Dechra's VETORYL also has received designation status as a Minor Use Drug for the treatment of hyperadrenocorticism caused by adrenal tumors. It is the first drug to gain approval for this use and the first drug to get a Minor Use designation for dogs.
