To entertain and educateclients in the exam room while they wait for us to come back from central treatment with their pet, I post articles on the wall that are relevant to owning pets, such as properly measuring food, flea and tick information, and radiographs showing foreign bodies animals consumed and the surgery needed to fix it. These pictures go a lot further than words. When the client sees them, it's worth 10 minutes of discussing why you should not let your dog eat all sorts of stuff.
