-- The Simmons Education Fund (SEF) has that it increase the prize amounts it awards to veterinary students through its Business Aptitude Award Program to $100,000.
Last year, the first national winner of the program got $10,000 and a trip to the Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas for the award presentation. This year, first prize will increase to $15,000, and regional prizes will increase from $2,000 to $3,000, according to SEF.
Third-year students are eligible to enter the award program, which aims to educate practitioners and students about the business of veterinary medicine.
