Whether you are visiting different hospitals — as a relief veterinarian or reviewing notes from other hospitals — it can become apparent there is a lot of variability in how vaccines are administered. But once we review the research and data, we find there should not be such disparity in how vaccines are given, to whom, and how often. We will review the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) and American Hospital Association (AHA) vaccine guidelines. We will synthesize this information and use it to carry out best practices. We will touch on herd immunity, what happens when a vaccine is given, and, briefly, on vaccine-related reactions.
Speaker: Janice Huntingford, DVM, DACVSMR, CVA, CVPP, CCRT
