Participants will have the chance to win prizes up to $3,500
Embrace Pet Insurance announced it will be hosting its first ever Embrace Pawthlete Showdown. Kicking off ahead of the 2023 NFL season, Embrace will name the Top Paw MVP and Top Benchwarmer, who will be eligible to win up $3,500 in prizes.
"Pets are the champions of our hearts, bringing boundless joy and unconditional love to our lives,” said Brian Macias, president of Embrace Pet Insurance, in an organizational release.1 “The Embrace Pawthlete Showdown is a platform to not only honor their greatness, but also mark the beginning of our partnership with the Cleveland Browns. Together, let's celebrate the extraordinary spirit of our furry companions.”
According to the release,1 the competition officially begins on August 15, 2023 and will end on August 29, 2023. During this time pet parents interested in entering their pets can enter video submissions showcasing either the alethic talent or clumsiness of their pet.
Top Paw MVP is a pet who has exceptional athleticism or remarkable feats such as agile catch of a frisbee or even an impressive jump. Top Benchwarmer on the other hand will celebrate a pet who might lack athleticism or talent and instead uncoordinated, in an endearing way. Each video should be somewhere between 15 seconds and 2 minutes as well as a short description and the pet’s name.2
The public will then have the chance to vote for their favorites on the submission platform beginning on August 30, 2023, and ending on September 6, 2023. The winners will then be formally announced on September 12, 2023. Embrace is encouraging participants to share entries with those around them and ask them to vote to help increase their pets chance of winning, using #EmbracrPawthleteShowdown.2
The first-place winners in each category will receive $1,00 each, second place will each receive $500, and third place will receive $250 each. The winners will also be showcased on Embrace’s social media platforms. Anyone interested in participating in this contest can visit the Embrace website to learn more.
