Tallahassee, Fla. — Pharmacists in Florida will be able to fill veterinary prescriptions for out-of-state pharmacists if new state legislation passes.
Florida House Bill 915, introduced Dec. 6, 2011, would allow pharmacists to fill out-of-state veterinary prescriptions with proof that the prescription is legitimate and was administered under a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship.
The bill addresses several health professions, but would apply also to veterinarians. It has been referred to the state's Health and Human Services Quality Subcommittee, Appropriations Committee, and Health and Human Services Committee.
