Gadget of the Week: The Hands-free Toothbrush

Article

Here’s a real time saver: A new hands-free toothbrush that will clean your teeth in 10 seconds flat.

It may not seem like you spend much of your time brushing your teeth, but if you didn’t have to spend two minutes every morning and two minutes every evening brushing your teeth, you’d have an extra two hours every month. That’s 108 days over your lifetime.

If you’d like to get that time back, a new, automated, hands-free toothbrush may be just what you’re looking for.

The Amabrush is designed to clean your teeth in just 10 seconds without any effort on your part. The device looks just like a pacifier and consists of three components: a bacteria-resistant silicone mouthpiece, a handpiece and toothpaste capsules.

The process is simple: just pop the Amabrush in your mouth, push a button and let the device do its job. Amabrush uses strong vibrations that enable the bristles to contact all the teeth in your mouth at the same time, allowing the process to finish much faster than traditional brushing.

The Amabrush battery lasts up to two weeks, or 28 sessions, for quick and complete teeth cleaning at the push of a button.

Amabrush creators are currently raising money for their product on Kickstarter. Pre-orders start at 79 euros for the basic model, with the first orders scheduled to be fulfilled in December. With more than $2.5 million pledged so far, it appears that this automated toothbrush is garnering significant interest.
