Blacksburg, Va. — The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech has a new clinical professor of large-animal surgery—Earl Gaughan, DVM.
A Virginia Tech alum, Gaughan joined the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences in September.
Previously of Sedalia, Colo., Gaughan most recently worked as a staff surgeon for the Littleton Equine Medical Center in Littleton, Colo. But this is not the first time he has worked in academia. Gaughan was a professor of clinical sciences and equine section chief at Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He also taught at Kansas State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and has held veterinary positions at clinics in Beallsville, Md., and Rutland, Vt.
