Getting Clients Involved in Animal Clinical Trials

Carol Robertson-Plouch, DVM, Translational and Comparative Medical Research (TCMR), LRL Strategic R&D Innovations at Eli Lilly Research Laboratories, talks about some of the issues holding veterinarians and clients back from participating in clinical trials.

First, both veterinarians and their clients need to be aware of what clinical trials are going on at the time. Second, veterinarians need to be better trained at conducting these high-quality clinical trials. She says there's only a core of veterinarians who are good at conducting these trials, but the profession needs to expand beyond this core.
