A pet owner dials found on a wireless device to receive information on the pet's location, which may be in the form of a map or address. The tracking system also allows a pet owner to monitor the environmental temperature of his or her pet. The owner is instantly alerted if the pet becomes dangerously hot or cold.
Finally, a pet owner can use a Web site to create virtual fences. The service alerts the owner when the pet isn't within the preset perimeter.
The devices are waterproof and require rechargeable batteries. Pet owners must purchase the system, and then pay both activation and subscription fees.
