When it comes to end-of-life care, Sandra Grossman, PhD, owner of PetLoss Partners and Compassionate Practice Consulting, says the setup of your practice can drastically affect client experience.

Sometimes, clients walk in with their pet barely breathing and they sit in the main lobby surrounded by lively and energetic pets, and then have to walk out the same front door after their pet is euthanized. But having a separate entrance or exit for those clients, adding a grieving room and having resources on pet loss — such as books, pamphlets or even a pet loss counselor — can make that client's experience much better.
