I had a cat that swallowed a needle and thread.

I had a cat that swallowed a needle and thread. The needle punctured the throat, and the thread was in the esophagus. I couldn't get ahold of the tiny end of the needle that hadn't disappeared beneath the mucosa. Finally I put a spay hook down the esophagus and pulled out the thread and the needle along with it. I should have started with the spay hook and saved much time and effort.
