Idea Exchange: Pass on good information

In our busy practice, my colleagues and I employ full- and part-time employees with a wide range of schedules. It is difficult to get our entire staff together for a meeting even once a month. So instead of meetings, we have a pass-it-on book. We keep the loose-leaf binder in the pharmacy, and everyone is required to read and sign it at least once a week. Everyone is welcome to write remarks in it, from simple reminders and thank-you messages to more important notes. I often insert continuing education opportunities, interesting facts and tidbits, and newspaper and journal clippings. Since everyone is required to read the book, everyone bears the burden of information dissemination. It really helps keep us all up-to-date on what is going on in our clinic.
