Idea Exchange: Prepared kits make prepping for appointments a snap

One of our technicians made kits for our check eyes, skin, or ear appointments. The eye kit contains fluorescein strips, a Schirmer tear test, eyewash, tweezers, cotton balls, gauze squares, and cotton swabs. The ear and skin kit contains a Wood's lamp, clear adhesive tape, scalpel blades, slides, mineral oil, cotton swabs, and a tick puller. Each kit is kept in a container with a carrying handle and is stored in the pharmacy, which is adjacent to our exam rooms. When a patient comes in for one of these appointments, we place a kit in the exam room, so it is ready for the doctor.
