We really increased our productivity by organizing shoebox-size plastic containers that hold supplies for specific procedures. The containers are kept in the treatment area for easy access. We have procedure kits for ophthalmic exams (Schirmer tear test supplies, fluorescein strips, tonometer), fine-needle aspiration (aspirate gun, needles, slides, syringes), skin scrapings (slides, scalpels, mineral oil, tape), aural hematoma drainage (cannulas, guide needle, flush, sponges), ear flushing (swabs, cleanser, cotton balls, slides, mineral oil, otoscope), and allergy test submission (forms, blood vials, submission material). The kits can be taken anywhere.
