Idea Exchange: A syringe makes collecting messy samples simple

A simple technique for collecting a diarrhea sample is to coat a 3-ml syringe with lubricant, slide the syringe into the rectum, and pull back on the plunger.

A simple technique for collecting a diarrhea sample is to coat a 3-ml syringe with lubricant, slide the syringe into the rectum, and pull back on the plunger. Voilà--You have a sample with no fuss and only a little mess.
