Treatment board
The treatment board is filled with treatment orders on everything from cranes to sea lions to rat snakes. Note on the far end that there is an appreciation statement area for jobs well done.
Filing system
Filing systems for a zoo must be quite a bit different than a traditional veterinary hospital.
Isolation and quarantine
This is the isolation and quarantine hall, where newly arrived zoo residents are monitored for signs of disease for a period of time before being placed in with other animals. Note the disinfecting footbaths at every door and the entrance to the hall. There were also footbaths like this at every entrance to every animal enclosure.
Treatment and surgery

Digital radiography machine
The Kansas City Zoo's digital radiography unit.
Large-animal anesthetic machine
A large animal-anesthetic machine at the Kansas City Zoo.
Blood collection tubes
A plethora of blood collection tubes. No need to search for that gorilla-sized ACD solution tube. Multiple types and sizes of colored-topped tubes leave the team prepared for any number of specimens that need to be collected.
