Manhattan, Kan. - Kansas State University's (KSU) College of Veterinary Medicine maintained accreditation from the American Veterinary Medical Association's (AVMA) Council on Education (COE).
Manhattan, Kan.— Kansas State University's (KSU) College of Veterinary Medicine maintained accreditation from the American Veterinary Medical Association's (AVMA) Council on Education (COE).
Accreditation occurs every seven years, with a five-year self-assessment report from the college as well as a site visit and a vote by the COE.
"It was an honor to show off our college as we went through the process," says Dr. Ralph Richardson, dean of KSU's veterinary college.
COE judges veterinary schools on 11 standards, including curriculum, library and information resources available, research, staff organization and finances to support educational programs and the mission of the college.
This year, Richardson says, COE gave high marks to the school's faculty, library and library staff as well as praise for the school's efforts to increase research and services income.
