Miami - 12/21/2007 - A 45-year-old man was rrested after attempting to give a puppy a rabies shot during a house call visit, despite having no veterinarian license.
Pablo E. Canchon Jiminez is charged with one count of unlicensed practice of veterinary medicine, according to the Miami-Dade police.
After the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation received a tip that Jiminez was passing himself off as a veterinarian, police began an investigation and arranged a house call using undercover detectives.
When Jiminez arrived, he examined the 7-month-old American boxer presented. When preparing to administer a rabies vaccination, police identified themselves and intiated the arrest.
