During an interview, Christopher Pachel, DVM, DACVB, CABC, lead clinician and practice owner of Animal Behavior Clinic in Portland, Oregon, previewed the lecture he will deliver on separation anxiety at the upcoming Fetch dvm360® conference. He emphasized that this is a timely topic in a postpandemic world, as more pet owners return to normalcy and in-person work, leaving their canine to spend more time home alone.

Christopher Pachel, DVM, DACVB, CABC: This particular talk will do a quick recap on what we probably already know amongst ourselves as practitioners who are diagnosing separation anxiety and prescribing treatment plans. And then moving beyond to say, "Hey, for some of the more difficult patterns or some of the more difficult cases that are coming our way, what are some of the things that we may need to really dive into?"
