Facility adds more veterinary research space in addition to NBAF now under construction.

Nebraska-based Midwest Veterinary Services plans to invest approximately $10 million to build the Veterinary and Biomedical Research Center (VBRC) in Pottawatomie County near Manhattan, Kan.

Minutes from the planned 500,000-square-foot, $650 million National Bio- and Agro-Defense Facility now under construction on the Kansas State University campus, the 20,000-square-foot research center will increase the presence of medical research in the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor. VBRC will design and conduct research that guides potential products through the FDA and USDA regulatory approval pathway for vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
