STARKVILLE, Miss. - 6/28/06 - Mississippi State University's (MSU)College of Veterinary Medicine received a $500,000 endowment to decrease the number of animals euthanized in the county.
STARKVILLE, Miss. - 6/28/06 - Mississippi State University's (MSU)College of Veterinary Medicine received a $500,000 endowment to decrease the number of animals euthanized in the county.
The endowment will allow a professor to coordinate a spay and neuter clinic as well as lecture students on the ethics of humane treatment toward animals.
Dr. Kent Hoblet, veterinary college dean, says students will be actively going into the community, providing them hands-on experience.
Marcia Lane, animal welfare enthusiast and philanthropist, who made the endowment, says it makes her happy to know many animals will be helped by her donation.
