Morris Animal Foundation (MAF) is now accepting research proposals for its annual Veterinary Student Scholar (VSS) program—a competitive granting opportunity for veterinary students to experience mentored research that advances the health and welfare of dogs, cats, equids, and wildlife.
Students apply through their veterinary medicine school and winners can receive up to $5,500 for their research. The deadline to submit a research proposal is June 7, 2023 at 4:59 EST. Research proposals should focus on the topic of feline, wildlife, domesticated equid, or canine health.
MAF is committed to training the next generation of veterinary researchers with the VSS program. Each institution is encouraged to select and submit the strongest 2 student projects based on scientific merit, potential animal health impact and opportunity for the student scholar to develop veterinary research skills. According to the release from MAF,1 all proposals must adhere to Morris Animal Foundation’s guidelines and mission.
