Morris Animal Foundation awards grant to study spinal surgery

Tampa, Fla. -- Florida Specialists and Cancer Treatment Center (FVS) has been awarded a grant from Morris Animal Foundation to develop a test to determine before surgery whether an animal would benefit from spinal surgery.

-- Florida Specialists and Cancer Treatment Center (FVS) has been awarded a grant for Morris Animal Foundation to develop a test to determine before surgery whether an animal would benefit from spinal surgery.

FVS will conduct a pilot study to explore whether an animal with intervertebral disk disease would benefit from the surgery, which is expensive and difficult.

The study also is being funded by Frankie's Friends Charitable Pet Foundation, the Dachshund Club of Animal Health and the Welfare Trust Fund.
