The digital platform will create an interactive experience that combines over 40 years of data to help pet parents learn more about their pet’s health risks
Nationwide announced it has released Pet HealthZone, a free online platform that uses over 40 years of data to help conversations between pet parents and veterinary teams by providing information on the pet’s possible health risks to the parents.
Pet parents can learn more by entering their pets name, breed, and age to receive customized information about their pet’s health risk. The health risk information will come from an analysis of claims that Nationwide received from millions of pets. The Pet HealthZone platform has a team of veterinarians, breed experts, and data analysts that pet parents can utilize to get immediate access to age and breed specific insights, expert advice, and fun facts.
“As veterinary professionals, we know there’s a lot of pet health information out there. However, pet families coming to us with the results of internet searches or what they’ve seen on social media may not always set us up for the most productive conversations,” expressed Jules Benson, BVSc, MRCVS, vice president, pet health and chief veterinary officer at Nationwide, in organizational release.1
“Imagine, instead, them being able to leverage data from millions of pets from veterinary clinics across the country. Clients can come into the exam room with accurate information about their pets’ specific health risks and look to you for help in catching and treating those health issues early,” he continued.
A survey conducted by Kinship Partners found that out of 1,000 pets surveyed, 77% of pet parents are concerned about their pet’s future health.2 Pet HealthZone can provide this information in a way that improves pet health outcomes, makes data meaningful and actionable, and increases effectiveness of veterinary healthcare teams. This way, those pet parents who are looking for the information can find it and have it be specific to their pet, helping pet parents and veterinary teams work to keep the pets healthy and happy.
