Raleigh, N.C. -- Dr. Warwick Arden, dean of North Carolina State University's veterinary college, was named interim provost of the university. A national search will soon be underway to find his permanent successor.

-- Dr. Warwick Arden, dean of North Carolina State University's veterinary college, was named interim provost of the university. A national search will soon be underway to find his permanent successor.
"I am pleased to be able to serve the university in this capacity," Arden says in a prepared statement. "I look forward to working with Chancellor (James L.) Oblinger, the college deans and other academic officers in advancing our academic interests while the important national search is conducted."
Arden begins the new position May 22.
Dr. David Bristol, NCSU's associate dean for academic affairs, will serve as acting dean.
