Happy Friday dvm360 readers! We had an absolutely BLAST at Fetch Coastal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, earlier this week and we hope all attendees did as well! • Zoetis announced this week it will be launching 2 new veterinary drugs into the market. Bedinvetmab injection (Librela; Zoetis), a drug that controls pain associated with osteoarthritis in dogs, received FDA approval on May 5, 2023, and Oclacitinib chewable tablets (Apoquel Chewable; Zoetis), a drug that controls pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis and atopic dermatitis in dogs, which received FDA approval on June 13, 2023, are now available for prescription in the United States.
• During an interview at our Fetch Coastal Conference, Mark Harris Jr, LVT, BS, gave insight into his background in veterinary medicine and offered tips to veterinary technicians taking clinically diagnostic radiographs.
• Chewy shared the news this week that it has unveiled PetMD’s Symptom Checker, a user-friendly online tool that was designed in conjunction with veterinarians to help pet owners get a better understanding of what could be causing their pet's symptoms or when they should consult their veterinarian.
• On this week’s episode of The Vet Blast Podcast, Tia Gregorio, DBA, MBA, BS, CVBL, CVT, and host Adam Christman, DVM, MBA, chat about what managers can do to help make a better clinic culture for the entire team.
