Nashville, Tenn.
-- The International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM) is offering a certification program for those interested in new methods of pain management.
The IVAPM, a nonprofit veterinary organization aimed at improving the identification, prevention and relief of pain in animals, announced the new program in September, which it designated as Pain Awareness Month.
The Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner (CVPP) certification program, modeled after the American Academy of Pain Management program, is designed to represent a minimal level of competence as an interdisciplinary pain practitioner. All veterinarians, licensed technicians, physical therapists and physical therapist assistants are eligible to take part, according to the IVAPM.
For more information about the CVPP certification, call (615) 522-5254 or e-mail ivapm@xmi-amc.com.
