Columbus, Ohio -- The American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) has elected a new president, Dr. Michael D. Lairmore of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center and a veterinarian with the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine.

-- The American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) has elected a new president, Dr. Michael D. Lairmore of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center and a veterinarian with the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine.
Lairmore, who is the associate director for basic sciences at the cancer center and holds a joint appointment in microbiology and immunology, will be responsible for helping implement ACVP's strategic plan.
ACVP is a nonprofit organization governed by an eight-member elected Council. Incorporated in 1949, it is the oldest veterinary specialty organization recognized by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA.)
ACVP has more than 1,500 members in 17 countries.
