Columbus
—- The Ohio State University (OSU) renamed its veterinary teaching hospital to better reflect the depth of services offered.
The Ohio University Veterinary Medical Center includes the Hospital for Companion Animals, the Hospital for Farm Animals and the Galbreath Equine Center.
The name change is aimed at better promoting the services offered at the hospital, the veterinary college reports. Many veterinary schools report declining pet owner visits to their teaching hospitals, resulting in a loss of revenue. OSU says the name change may provide “a broader understanding of our diagnostic and treatment capabilities.”
