(click photo for larger view) Place additional Lembert sutures along the entire length of the wound. These Lembert sutures, tied under tension, bridge the lesion or defect. The sutures are usually placed in the late afternoon, and the area is covered with a bandage overnight. An Elizabethan collar may be needed to prevent molestation of the area.
