Consider using some of October’s animal-centric holidays to promote your veterinary services and keep your patients healthy.
Every month, new animal holidays celebrate and raise awareness about animals of all kinds. For veterinary practices, these special days also present an opportunity to reach out to clients, promote your services, and boost revenue.
October is no exception. Consider promoting a few of this month’s special occasions in your office, through newsletters, and on your hospital’s social media accounts. When on social media, don’t forget to use each event’s related hashtags; they’re an easy way to share ideas and reach new audiences.
Much of this month’s focus is on cats and dogs. From days that celebrate specific breeds (Pitbull Awareness Day on October 27) to rejoicing in cats of all kinds (National Cat Day on October 29), there are plenty of opportunities to share patient photos and educate pet parents about the importance of routine checkups and preventive measures that can be taken to ensure optimal health.
One particular day you may want to create awareness around is October 11, National Pet Obesity Awareness Day. According to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, the rate of obesity in pets in the United States increased last year; it now affects 60% of cats and 56% of dogs—and likely many of your patients.
And don’t forget to show your team some extra appreciation during the week of October 14!
