-- The Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine will offer free eye exams for certified service dogs during the month of May. The exams are part of a third annual American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists initiative.
To qualify for the program, dogs must be certified, active working dogs or currently enrolled in a formal training program. Eligible dogs include guide dogs, handicapped assistance dogs, and dogs used by police and fire departments.
To register for the 30- to 45-minute exam, visit acvoeyeexam.org by April 30, then schedule the appointment by locating the Purdue Veterinary Teaching Hospital on the list of participating ophthalmologists. Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
