RECALL: 3 More Companies Recall Raw Pet Foods, Treats
Three additional companies have issued recalls of raw pet food products due to potential contamination with Listeria and Salmonella.
Following multiple recent recalls, 3 more raw dog foods and treats have been recalled voluntarily due to possible contamination with Listeria and Salmonella.
, of Portland, Oregon, has recalled its 5-lb frozen Chicken and Salmon Dog Food chubs due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. According to the company. the product was 1 isolated batch of 94 cases distributed in California, Washington, Texas, Michigan, Georgia, and Rhode Island and sold through specialty pet-retail stores.
The recalled product has the following attributes:

L monocytogenes can cause serious and even fatal infections in children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. Infection can cause symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea while also having the potential to cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Carnivore Meat Company, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, has recalled 73 cases of its Vital Essentials Freeze-Dried Beef Nibblets Entrée for Dogs due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled products were distributed through independent U.S. retailers, Chewy.com, and Amazon.com.
