, of Portland, Oregon, has recalled its 5-lb frozen Chicken and Salmon Dog Food chubs due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. According to the company. the product was 1 isolated batch of 94 cases distributed in California, Washington, Texas, Michigan, Georgia, and Rhode Island and sold through specialty pet-retail stores.
The recalled product has the following attributes:
L monocytogenes can cause serious and even fatal infections in children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. Infection can cause symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea while also having the potential to cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
