At the 2017 Society of Animal Welfare Administrators conference, Amanda Landis-Hanna, DVM, senior manager of veterinary outreach for PetSmart Charities, learned that there is a desire from animal shelter administrators to create closer partnerships with local veterinarians.
For veterinarians, partnering with their local animal shelters can offer an influx of patients for their practice. For the animal shelter, a partnership can help keep them in the loop about outbreaks and also give them an authoritative source to turn to for any questions they might have.
