Small business owners say 2010 revenue will beat last year's
A recently released June survey shows midyear optimism.
It's not business as usual from before the recession, but the majority of U.S. small business owners said in a June survey that this year would be better than last.
The Guardian Life Small Business Research Institute just released results from its June 2010 survey of 1,200 small business owners, including those in the healthcare industry. Fifty-one percent said they expect 2010's revenue to be higher than 2009's. A year before, only 32 percent expected better performance in 2009 versus 2008.
Another study focused on the veterinary industry, however, doesn't show the same optimism. Only 28 percent of veterinarians said they thought they were better off in 2010 than 2009, according to the latest Veterinary Economics State of the Industry Study. Almost half of these practice owners said their hospitals were in the same financial shape this year as last year.
