Special report from NAVC: Update on NAVTA's veterinary assistant certification

The first NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant examination will be administered this spring.

Orlando-In their General Membership Meeting at the NAVC yesterday, leadership from the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) announced that the first NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant examination will be administered starting in April through VetMedTeam.com. In the same NAVTA meeting, leadership also announced the first two schools with NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant programs: Front Range Community College, which has campuses throughout Colorado, and Brookdale Community College in collaboration with Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, N.J. Classes are scheduled to begin early this year.
