Turn a few simple materials into a supportive, customizable dog harness.
Renee Anthony, the receptionist at Grand Avenue Veterinary Hospital in West Des Moines, Iowa, loves her 14-year-old golden retriever, Andy. And she wasn’t about to let the atrophy of his hind legs slow him down.
“When tired or in a hurry, his hind legs collapse when he walks,” Anthony says. “Depending on where he goes down, it’s sometimes hard to lift his 90 pounds back into standing position. There are several professional harnesses for sale, but I chose to make my own. I can tailor it exactly to his size.”
