Alexandre Contreras, VT, winner of the Veterinary Heroes™'s veterinary paraprofessional category, describes the value that technicians bring to veterinary practices, during an interview with dvm360® during the awards gala at the 2022 Fetch dvm360™ Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.

The following is a transcript of this video:

Alexandre Contreras, VT: The doctors are the brains of the organization but, without the technicians, it’s just a practice. I feel like we are the first line of defense. We see the clients and the patients before they even get to the doctor. So that’s where I see that we are vital in this profession. The passion and the excitement that we bring to the job, I truly believe, stems from a young age. I truly feel that these technicians are the moving mechanics of a veterinary practice.
