The new clinic will provide care for pets in Turnersville, Pennsville, and William township areas in New Jersey
Thrive Pet Healthcare announced that it will open an urgent care clinic on 4250 NJ-42 in Turnersville, New Jersey, but the clinic will also serve pets in Williamstown and Pennsville Township areas. The clinic will help pet owners who need their pet to receive timely veterinary care in case of injury or illness that are not enough for urgent care but cause enough pain and discomfort that they cannot wait to see their regular veterinarian.
“Pets don’t always get sick or injured at a time when it’s convenient to see your primary care veterinarian and some conditions don’t warrant a visit to an ER,” said Lynn Shelton, Thrive Pet Healthcare hospital administrator, in an organizational release.1 “Our walk-in urgent care clinic in Turnersville bridges the gap between your family veterinarian and an emergency hospital by providing timely outpatient care that is often more affordable compared to an ER visit.”
According to the release,1 this new clinic is modeled after human urgent care facilities and will provide outpatient, same-day services for injured pets that need to see a veterinarian but do not have critical or life-threatening conditions such as allergic reactions, loss of appetite, eye or ear infections, diarrhea, fever, minor wounds or injuries, or the ingestion of minimal toxins or a foreign object, and vomiting.
The clinic will be run by Elena Reitmeyer, DVM, Katie Washart, MS, DVM, and Amy Stoltenberg Cione, DVM. Pet owners in the area can bring pets into the clinic from 10 AM to 10 PM, 7 days a week.
