Charlotte Lacroix, DVM, JD: I think veterinary practices have a hard time holding people accountable when it comes to HR (Human Resources), because [practitioners] don't like writing things down...I think a really easy trick for practitioners in particular—because we are veterinarians, we know what the SOAP methodology is—when you write up an employee, use your SOAP [method], and put it in a memo format.
