Sue Ettinger, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology): It's actually an exciting time to be an oncologist. We have new medications to alleviate side effects, so when we're treating dogs with chemotherapy [these drugs] minimize the side effects . . . and I always say, 'live longer, live well,' if [the dog] is not tolerating treatment, we're not doing our job.
