In honor of Veterinary Appreciation Day on June 18, 2023, Trupanion announced the launch of its "truthankyou" program. The new initiative will honor and celebrate the veterinary community by encouraging pet parents to applaud them for all that they do for their pets and public health.

“Veterinarians are often overlooked in the appreciation of medical professionals, but with the truthankyou program, we can support our veterinary heroes and show appreciation for all the incredible work they do,” expressed Steve Weinrauch, BVMS, MRCVS, chief veterinary officer at Trupanion, in an organizational release.1

According to an organizational release,1 pet parents are invited to submit a formal truthankyou to a veterinary professional of their choice with a heartfelt message, pictures, or a video message. This way, pet parents can express their appreciation to the community who cares so deeply, and is selfless when it comes to taking care of their pets. Along with the heartfelt messages, Trupanion will give $10,000 worth of scrubs to veterinary professionals who received a truthankyou.

“The majority of our team members come from a veterinary ecosystem, so we are exceedingly aware of the long hours and hard work that veterinary professionals put in on a daily basis to care for the pets we all love,” said Margi Tooth, president of Trupanion.1 “It’s our goal to bring joy and inspiration to our veterinary heroes and to create a touching tribute to their unwavering commitment. It's a chance for our members to share their story and the impact their veterinary hero has had on their pet's life.”
