Antonio Bowens, DVM: When I was in vet school, we had classes on it, but you really don't understand how strong the human-animal bond is until you start practicing. And then you realize, man, this patient that I just diagnosed with a brain tumor and performed brain surgery [on], the owner just got diagnosed with cancer or, the patient got the client through a bad divorce. It is just so many stories, but pets unlike people have unconditional love.
