Return to veterinary market comes after product inconsistency issues in 2013.
Virbac is reintroducing Iverhart Plus (ivermectin-pyrantel) Flavored Chewables to the veterinary market after potency and shelf life issues prompted a voluntary recall and withdrawal of the product in 2013.
“We are very pleased to bring Iverhart Plus back to dog owners and veterinarians,” says Paul Hays, CEO of Virbac, in a company release. “We are also very appreciative of the support of dog owners, veterinarians and distributors who transitioned dogs to our product with added benefits, Iverhart Max Chewable Tablets, while Iverhart Plus tablets were not available.”
Iverhart Max (ivermectin-pyrantel pamoate-praziquantel) provides heartworm protection, controls hookworms and roundworms and eliminates tapeworms. Iverhart Plus prevents heartworm disease and treats and controls roundworms and hookworms. Iverhart Plus provides a slightly better price point for clients whose pets do not need treatment for tapeworms.
