Blacksburg, Va. - Virginia Tech's veterinary college recently appointed Drs. Kent Scarratt and Jacqueline Pelzer to fill positions within the school.
BLACKSBURG, VA. — The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine announced two new staff appointments.
Dr. Kent Scarratt, of Newport, Va., an associate professor in the Department of Large-Animal Clinical Sciences, was named director of the college's Teaching and Research Animal Care Support Services (TRACSS).
TRACSS is responsible for the care and housing of all college-owned animals involved in teaching and research projects. Scarratt replaces Dr. Jennifer Hodgson, who was named associate dean for professional programs.
Dr. Jacqueline Pelzer, of Blacksburg, Va., was named Virginia Tech's director of admissions and student services. The primary contact for student advising and admission to the DVM program, she replaces Dr. Mike Reardon, who is retiring.
